It’s become increasingly obvious that the unelected, unaccountable monstrosity known as the federal bureaucracy is out of control and wielding its power arbitrarily. We’ve seen it with the EPA, the IRS, and now the Bureau of Land Management.
The BLM and a small army of militarized federal law enforcement took on a peaceful rancher in Nevada who wasn’t threatening anyone, asserting that he was allowing his cattle to graze illegally on federal lands. The American people, however, wouldn’t stand for this bullying, and militia from all over the country immediately came to the Bundy family’s aid.
Not having learned its lesson, the BLM began threatening the state of Texas this week, attempting to confiscate over 90,000 acres of Texas land which they say the state never really owned. Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst immediately responded, saying that the feds are overreaching and Texas won’t stand for it.
Now, Gov. Rick Perry is issuing a warning shot to the “out of control” feds, joining Attorney General Greg Abbott in saying that he’s ready to go to the Red River Valley and put up a flag that says “Come and Take It.” He appeared on Fox News recently to discuss the feds’ power grab.
